Marvellous comments on the Guardian - you can tell they're all nice comfy middle-classies. Almost all assuming that people eat junk because they can't be bothered to cook proper food. They've obviously never stopped to think that to make a "proper meal" you need kitchen equipment, appliances, fuel, fresh food (not cheap, and if cheap, not tasty), time, and a certain amount of inspiration. Or you can buy a burger for a dollar. Being poor is terribly dispiriting, and when you're dispirited the last thing you want to do is spend ages chopping onions. But your Guardian readers probably have au pairs to do all that for them, so they wouldn't know.
